About Us
The Story of Mahtab Linen
Mahtab Linen is more than just a brand—it is a journey through time, memory, and artistry. Inspired by my mother, Syeda Shishmahal, who was lovingly named Mahtab Ara, meaning “one who beautifies the moon,” the brand carries forward her legacy of creativity and devotion. Before motherhood, she spent her days immersed in patterns and colors, crafting textiles that spoke of care, elegance, and subtle strength.
After her passing in 2009, I rediscovered her world through memory and craft, embracing the same rhythm of making that defined her life. What began as longing transformed into a continuation of her vision. Each piece by Mahtab Linen is a tribute to South Asian women—their quiet strength, their artistry, and the beauty they bring into their homes. From intricate linens to thoughtfully designed tableware, Mahtab Linen celebrates heritage, craftsmanship, and the warmth of family traditions.
